Problems

Homelessness - a crisis in our city:

  • # homeless people counted in Vancouver in 2008

  • Minimum wage does not pay rent

It is shameful that so many Vancouver residents are homeless and suffering in our streets, parks and alleys, at risk of dying because of government inaction. Many more are one step away from homelessness. The lack of affordable housing impacts seniors, youth and low- and modest-income workers. Immediate action is needed.

Both the federal and provincial governments have budget surpluses in the billions. Construction of homes for all can start now. There is no excuse for delay.
